4.1 sounds just a bit too extreme I reckon, that's what my 140bhp 318iS had on it. And imho the 46 is already a bit buzzy, at least by comparision to the 36 Evo.

Did you notice much diff in terms of eco?

I was just joking!

He car felt faster on pick up.

On motorway cruising you noticed the higher revs but never really noticed any fuel change as in real terms only long motorway drives would be any different

On track improvement depended on what track. Some felt better, others worse!

Was that the placebo diff or the real one?

Hi,

CSL here has a 3.91 Drexler, fitted by previous
owner Tony R.

Not something you would want to run in
a Road car that does the odd Track day.

+'s Better suited to the rev drop of the std G/Box
Better out of slower corners etc

-'s Rev Limiter becomes your new mate.
std 3.64 better for Spa / Ring ie] Power Circuits.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

It got fitted today and so far I'm very happy.

Far less clunking than from the knackered original diff, and no oil leaks, both of which were the main reason for replacement.

As for the ratio - after a bit of town and a/bahn driving I thihk I like it more. You can dump it in to 2nd pretty much immediately and 3rd can be used perfectly well from 15mph upwards. At the higher speeds accel is not really noticeably different on the bum dyno in a straight line but crusing, although the revs are higher, the load is a bit less so I think it's actually a tad quieter - could be my imagination though.

Anywhom... happy easter folks
