Given we might be on the way to Sterling / Euro parity, I wonder if folks will be coming over to buy our RHD cars. I've heard of this happening in the past on a couple of occasions with CSLs. Clearly more common with LHD cars. CSL prices on the continent are pretty high. |

If it does drop closer to parity the European market will open up. It's already telling in my business as 45% of my customers are central Europe and to them we are getting cheaper by the day. Same thing happened, to a far greater extent in 2008.

I remember one of the established Porsche independent dealers in Germany specialising in air cooled 911 RS/GT2 models sold a few cars to UK buyers some years ago when the exchange rate was in our favour.
Apparently this same dealer then came to the UK a couple of years later (with a transporter) and bought back those same cars, good deal for all parties as the currency had gone the other way. However these were all LHD cars. My old Porsche 964 Celebration also went back to Germany. |

If only there was a Euro-currency country that drove on the left
Not been too many coming over here in the last little while AFAIK, but might start happening again now with these exchange rates |

Too bad for potential purchasers (asking) prices seem to have gone up too more or less cancelling out any savings the currency fluctuations may offer. |

Looks like MLs have just sold one too: http://www.munichlegends.co.uk/compo...6/view,detail/
Was that to someone on here? Losing track of all the new members looking for them and who's actually pulled the trigger That's true I suppose. Not sure where the £GBP is going to go next, but I reckon there's probably not going to be a much better time to buy one and bring it over here than now. Are Z3MCs still going up in value too recently? |

I reckon the boat has sailed on the right time to buy a CSL, when you see wanted threads on Pistonheads for a CSL where it's obvious the poster has little idea of what a CSL is only that it is the "it" car to have at the moment you know it's not the right time to buy. I hummed and hawed too much when it was the right time to buy, will be paying the price now. Your right about it being a pretty good time to bring one over though with the vrt as it is and the exchange rate. Have you taken yours out of storage yet? |
