Default Snetterton 6th March

Another good weekend away

Thanks to Bounce (Bret) for picking me up from the station at Peterborough so I could collect my car, thanks mate

Thanks to Bounce and Yanto for allowing me to get some track time in
Ian I think it must have been the new cups and possibly not the brakes that increased the stopping distance

It was good to meet some new faces and old ones, if I didnt manage to say bye sorry, you must have been out on track

I would like to thank everyone for welcoming my son and giving his some good laps

He had a really good birthday

his awards -

best driver
Shimmy
closely followed by Dunc

funniest driver Dunc

he says thanks to everyone who took him out
the ones I know who took him out,
Bret, Shimmy, Jim, Rich and Dunc

long drive home but managed to do it quite quickly

great track by the way

Jim pm me with the damage for the room and meal.
Did you wait a bit longer to accelerate out of the corners when I left or did you keep to seat of the pants stuff
I will get the truth from Matt

Dunc do us all a favour and bin those cups and slicks, there's FO-oK all left of them

signing out for now, knackered ...

Great to have the CSL back

It was an epic day of win

I did my best to try and give Shimmy the best bit of footage ever - 130mph coming up to Riches, a Late brake with a Capital 'L', decided it was "now or never" on the turn in, then 4th gear drift round the corner with my rears hanging over the green "bonus track". Probably a bit of mud too :-)

After that I stopped trying to outdrive you guys on cup tyres :D

Awesome day and fantastic track. Can't wait to go again.

Oh, and on the way home my brother and I have both found our rear pads have gone :D

Sounds like you drive like a hooligan mate, can't wait to see the footage!!!

How were the Alcon's in the end? I've just brought a set so following your experiences with them closely!

Sounds like the Cup tyres really do make the difference on track! will be interesting to see what the new Super Sports are like in comparison!

Sadly my bulletcam has mysteriously gone mega out of focus. Not the sort of thing you check, so my footage is a bit rubbish.

Alcons (with carbotech XP10s front) absolutely fine, although if I do move up to cup tyres I think I might go for XP12.

hankook rs2 actually did ok, right enough though through riches/corham you can see other people with bigger grip levels and far less or no squeal. 7 laps was about it for me and then they just let go, very tail happy and understeerey.

Nick (tyre guy / mazda on track) praised the Federal 595RSR. Around £170 I think he said (265/35/1, vs the £157 I paid for RS2 and vs £232 for R888.

Good to hear!! where are you getting your Carbotech pads from then and how much? and does this mean you have a barley used spare set of RS29's?

Even at £170 those Federals are half the price of Cup's - might be worth a go!

Also I think you'll find 25kg of mild cheddar is cheaper as well!
