Default Tyre Deflation Light

On my way back from Essex last night and the tyre deflation light came on.

This is the second time in a week. Is this a dodgy ABS sensor the culprit? And is it a trip to BMW?

Best

Jonathan

Possibly but I just put it down to being over sensitive. If mine has tyre pressures just 0.5psi different the sensor goes off 2 or three times on longer trips. Happened a couple of times on my last couple of Ring trips. Corrected 0.5psi and it stopped. Very pedantic.

Always on and off for me, have you had your wheels off recently ?
Mine also just comes on if I've done a very long euro trip at constant high speeds.. Best to just check them anyway

Are you resetting it properly ? If you don't do the full procedure [which I can never remember, it's in the handbook] it'll keep happening.

Presumably you have checked your tyre pressures ?

I think its press and hold the button until it goes off

Then turn car off, back on and repeat.

Mine came on when the Cups went on back in the summer this year, I reset it straight away and it never came back! When I put the PS's back on it never came up at all, very strange!?

I think the sequence is something like Key in Pos. 2, press and hold button, turns from yellow to red, then start car, drive off as normal, light goes out, done!

Mine did this yesterday - red light rather than orange.

Pulled over, checked tyres, no flats...

Held button down whilst engine on, light goes out, drive off, stays off....bizarre..

Sounds like an oversensitive sensor or a very slow puncture
