Just a thought - what about some longer CSL 'trophy' races say 4 or 6 hours for 2 or 3 drivers??

And to spice it up we could throw in a compulsory "check the oil via the dipstick" pitstop ! Original airboxes to remain in place
![]() To mix it up a little bit more how about 1 hr on Cups, 1 hour on slicks & 1 hour on PS2's ?? ... in fact the more time spent in the pits ... the better chance I would have of getting on the fookin podium if I were racing ! ![]()

![]() ![]() I must say that as far as the CSLCup racing goes, you can end up with not a lot of time on track, so a longer race would make more of an experience for all concerned I would think, particularly if you had a maechanivcal problem on the day ! It must be so frustrating to prepare yourself all week for the race week-end, and then get to the Circuit and have problems resulting in you missing the 20 min ? races ... ![]()

Duncan, you can't really look at racing as time on track, they are different to track days massively and the benefit of 2 races is that if you have trouble in the first there is a second to have a go at. However we are looking at a lot of options on the series due for announcement soon.

I too went into racing wondering how it was gonna match the VFM of trackdays, but trust me it does in spades. You coming racing then or what?? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Maybe a bit like Britcar used to be before you needed a £400k GT2 Ferrari to win !! If you go back to when I started a good Group N E36 3 litre M3 would be right up there, so I thought the specs and regs of the CSL cup cars plus long range tanks would work. THere are loads of older more standard M3's that must be sitting in workshops with no where to go.
It makes a great team effort too with fuel stops, reliability comes into play over pure performance and you can share the costs between 2 or 3 drivers. How about most races being 60 mins x 2 per meeting with a 6 hour thrown in for good measure ![]() |
