Default Performance friction pads for AP calipers?

I am looking at trying the 01 compound front and rear or possibly the 97 compound in the rear and the 01 up front.

Anyone used these?

Currently using rs29 and they are pretty good on the PF discs up front.

Or I could try rs14 like shimmy but not sure if they are any good on track?

cheers Shim, so you find the rs14 better than all of them? interesting will look into these.

You say they don t squeal in normal road driving either?

What about rattling in the calipers or is it only the ferodo ds2500 that do that?

None of the pads should rattle in the callipers unless;

1.the pads are the smaller size ones diff code
2. The anti rattle clips are missing
3. The anti rattle clips are in backwards

I've done them all -so has Dunc

I had some squeal with PF01 and RS29 on road but virtually none with RS14, bit it has had slot less road use. The RS14 last 1/4 less but wear to the plate without crumbling like RS29, and they cost 3/4 of RS29

Try them!

Have just been reading up about them, think I will give them a go. Cheapest place to get them? was going to give raceparts a call. My rs29 don t squeal but have been warned that the 01's do. Think the rs14 sound good.

Its more of a clicking than a rattling, its only on the rear and they have the ferodo ds2500 in there that came with the calipers. Only clicks on initial application or if you travel forwards then put in reverse and apply the brakes.

They are crap pads anyway so will take a look when i remove them.

I use ds2500 rears all the time. But there are two sizes. Check the clips are in the right way up

I only use rs14 at the front, if your discs are very new Rs14 may not fit very easy as they are 1mm thicker

Best price is Questmead for Pagid if you get decent discount:

Do a sarch on here for a ap v of disk thread where I posted the friction graphs for the pagid range, the 14 & 15s are much more agressive and aren't endurance pads like the rs29, pay yer money and take yer choice but I can't see how you can create extra friction without extra wear?
