Yeah, mine is getting that way but it's going in for an Inspection II this time home, and that's on my list of things to get checked out.

Get them to check the main power steering pipe under the rad, prone to rubbing and eventually splitting, will leak for ages slightly but as the under tray is there you wont notice it until it goes fully which mine did last year just as I came of the ring (which was handy )

Low fluid level can make it noisy.

Is the power steering fluid bottle under the airbox? Bit of a cnut to check! I'm cleaning my Airfilter (ITG) this time home before my InspII so will check it myself before it goes in.

Complained about this a year ago and now they have fitted a new pump !they say the pas oil was contaminated how i don't know!, i got a call this afternoon to say they couldn't bleed the system they rang bmw tech who have told them to strip the whole system and flush it out, one thing i did notice about three months ago whilst on the ramp was that both rack boots had sucked in almost as if a vacuum had been drawn on the rack! any suggestions?.

Oh dear. Well, looks like I'll be getting them to check out the PAS for sure now. That doesn't sound good though. Will be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.
