Newbi seeking buying advice
New on here so excuse if this has been asked before but
I am looking for a 'keeper' to use sparingly and to prepare up to show/concours condition which may not be everyones taste but... My question is regards the optional extras and their effect on price and percieved re-sale values. So whilst intended as a stripped out lightweight it seems very few are not fitted with most 'no cost' extras incl. a/c, stereo, xenons, etc. Given a 'rare' no extras' CSL then against a comparable CSL with all the main extras what would maybe the ££ difference?? Have they been found to be more difficult to re-sell?? or do real enthusiasts actually prefer the rawness?? I assume whilst fewer made in black there is little if any £££ difference due to colour?? Thanks and by all means give me any links to past threads on similar lines. |

The few 'no-option' cars that i have seen for sale tend to go for a grand or two less than the optioned cars. Often they take longer to shift on too as the buyer market for an optionless car is diminished compared with other CSLs.
The option that seems to affect re-sale the most is aircon - or lack of it... Colour has no affect on price imho.

Welcome !
My 2 cents (which many on here will confirm is no sense)..... I do think a non optioned car with low miles in c.10-15 years will become highly prized (in same way as 964 RS for example). There are few cars (it seems) without the NCO's being exercised. That said, if a reasonably regular drive (mine is weekends) then you may regret going with no air con / stereo. I do without park sensors (actually think it spoils the look of the cars arse). Black v Grey seems to have little diff in resale (though black rarer). Some prefer grey as it shows up cf roof better (my reason) though black does look the nuts when clean. You'll read a lot on here about black cars being quicker but I have it on good authority from Dazblackcsl that grey cars are approx 20 bhp better off) HTH |

CSLs with 30-35k miles seem to go circa £26k and would have thought this a more realistic figure as no options fitted or am I being over optimistic?? |
