Default 265/35 or 25/35 on 9" up front

Hi,

I am getting some new tyres for my 9" all around setup and am not sure whether to go with 255/35 or 265/35. I am running -2.5" degrees of camber and with the ET26 offset of the 18" wheel I think the 265 might just be a bit too wide, but then again the diameter of the 255/35 is a lot smaller than standard than I want to go. Any advice?

Thanks

I run 265/35/18 ET26 9Js all round for TD work only, on standard -1.5" cumber & suspension set up and have no problems (no rubbing) so far, after 55 laps @ the Ring and one UK TD Front end grip levels are phenomenal

Yes, I remember!

I am a bit lower which is why I was worried about rubbing the arch lip. I guess with -2.5" I should be OK. What tyres did you have again? I am thinking about federal 595rs.

Thanks. Did it touch the lip or in the inner arch? How low are you?

I have Dunlop DZ02g semi slicks. Superb tyres, no questions there but the NEW DZ03g are MEGA bucks (something like £300 each + delivery) I know CamSkills are doing offers on the Federal but I know nothing about them however I have heard good things about the KHUMO V70 semi slicks and I think Craig is running these on his 328i Track Slag

both - on full lock they just touch the front inner arch (but not a problem) but at -2 they also just rubbed the lip of the arch, front ride height is 643mm

You should have bought my 9" e26 wheels. You can borrow a set for your trip if you want.

Matt,

I have a very specific question for you mate.
When you put the 9x18 E46 M3 wheels in the front, is there more clearance between caliper + wheel spokes compared to the 8.5x19 standard CSL wheels ?

Can you please check for me.
I want to know whether I will need the spacers for my new track wheels (9x18 E46 M3).
I need spacers for the CSL wheels because my calipers are HUGE (I have the CP5555 caliper).

Thank you please.
