Hi there,

I bought an Exige waiting to reach budget for a CSL. I'm not so far for it and I found this very strange advert, vin number is CSL but front bumper is classic M3... Is anybody know this car, this dealer... ?????

It was announced a class D in hpi (small damaged i the front)

I would run away.

they put up a car for sale with blurry photos (of the interior), with the wrong bumper... it's CAT D, and has no warranty.

Put it this way, if they can't be arsed even fitting the right bumper (which will bugger up the flow to the airbox), what else have they scrimped on?

It's not even cheap.


I'd recommend looking at a 50-60K mile one, for the similar price, which has been used properly and looked after by an enthusiast, and maybe put BMW warranty on it, if it doesn't already have it.

Category D is usually the least damage caused but still claimed through insurance who decided to write the car off as the costs of repair were more more then half the value of the vehicle in question.
I too would stay clear of this one as with any HI performance car like the CSL a frontal impact cheaply repair could mean twisted/out of kilter chassis that hasn't been jigged properly. End result being being an underivable CSL that is wearing your tires out in an unusual pattern as it can not be tracked properly.

Mine is 46k and will be near that price, only mine is straight and true with correct bumper and full bmw warranty

I know it is low mileage but i reckon it should be 16-17k to reflect its on the register and missing a £2,000 genuine front bumper

If I were U I'd speak to the chaps @ Thorney about it. They are very much on here, just speak up a bit and they should hear U But, as some of us said before, it's just NOT worth the effort and the 11K miles they claim this CSL has, is just "Pie in the Sky" without Full Service History + U might find BMW refusing to put extended Warranty on it, which IMHO is a MUST with any road going CSL. The decision is yours but there are better HPi clear CSL out there for £1000-£2000 extra.

EXACTLY BTW, did U find out how many previous owner ? (including yourself) with regards to your CSL and can U post some pix of it as it looks now PLEEEEEEZ
