Default Thank **** for warranty!

Had the car in for a noisy diff and was expecting them to just change the oil and be on my way but no, car has a collapsed O/S bearing and will in turn need a new diff!!!

Thing is, Steve G's car was in too having had a new diff fitted recently. These guys will be diff replacing experts.

Alarm Siren has given up the ghost too but they need to take alot of the car apart at the back of the engine to get to the siren so are waiting until the new siren is in before checking that out. Lets just hope it doesn't get broken into between now and then eh?

The diffs seem to be quite a common replacement? I'm not sure if mine has ever been changed. How do you tell if it's on the way out out of interest?

Good news you're getting it done under warranty!

2bar boost, thats exactly what I done. As I said, expected them to change it for the fancy, 'modified' oil but no.

It is obviously fooked though. Under the car, grab the drive shaft at the diff end and although it can move in and a wee bit, it shouldn't move up or down, fwd or aft. If it does, the bearing is gubbed. My N/S one is fine, but the O/S one is obviously gone. The oil leak doesn't help either...

Mine does exactly what yours does Baz, but my dealer told me it was normal, M3s do it too, and the right always moves more than the left?! Im doubting them now!

You still going Moffat btw?

Baz, are you asking me out?

Cool, we'll have a chat about it then. Mine moves back and forth about quite a bit.
