Dead key

Hi, anybody changed battery on Csl key mine has died, or is it just a new key from dealers. 🤔

What won't it do mine has never failed.

They charge when in the ignition, so good to switch keys periodically

Hi Craig Keys no longer locking doors on button, have to use key In lock, will change to other key, not used that for some time maybe that will charge up,but sure that has gone the some way, as azrael & Ben said I Remember BMW service telling me they charge in ignition but thats not working now, was hoping you could fit new battery, BMW say you have to get new key, i like to do my own repairs and services when I can,don't want a f..ing battery to beet me ��

New key I'm afraid,you need to swop keys now and again to keep them both charged as said above.

If my memory is correct not much change out of £200 for new key Chad

Yeah,I think £150 odd for key then needs to be coded in,unless you can do it yourself

I am sure you can just replace the battery and dont need to replace the whole key

there are lots of youtube vids on that topic. I would try that first, as a new key from bmw certainly wont be cheap.

Same thing happened to me. Key just needed recoding. Elms sorted it and it wasn't expensive.
