Evening all

I'm considering getting a 996 C4S as I love the look of them and think they
Are least likely to shed a load of doe in depreciation ,

I'm keeping the CSL but going to garage it over the winter
And still want a bit of a looker to mooch about in over winter,

Has any one here had one or have any advice on these 911s
Things to watch for and must have options

Good choice. I don't have any specific technical advice about buying a 996 but being the owner of both a CSL and a 996 I would just say to make sure that you do it.

The C4S is a great looking car and will definitely give you a complimentary driving and ownership experience to the CSL.

As with all cars go for full and complete service history and check the brakes and tyres, My 996 has been super reliable, but I have had to put a new clutch, tyres, full brakes and a few radiators on it to get it to the condition I wanted. Fortunately for me this was, almost, factored into the buying price.

How much do you have to pay for a nice C4S?

Mine has got a Tubi exhaust which makes a great noise. I'm not sure if all C4S's come with the switchable loud exhaust, if they don't make sure you get it. For me it would have to be manual as well - I'm not in any way anti auto, but I think it would be the best setup for that particular car.

I can barely bring myself to mention the infamous bearing issue, however, if this concerns you, and you can't find a car which has had it done, buy the car you like and spend a grand having the unmentionable done.
