I know I am preaching to the converted, but I have to tell somebody and everybody else either doesn't care or thinks I am showing off because I have a CSL, but the CSL is an amazing car. Today I did the same route in the CSL, 215hp 800kg Westfield SEIGHT and 650+hp 996 turbo. The CSL was by far the most fun. In the Westfield I was concerned as I am not used to having no driver aids, it is quick. 40-80mph in 3.71s from the data in third gear but scary when coming to a fast corner with no ABS, and you need to wear a helmet. The Porsche is nuts, ballistic in a straight line but can only keep the throttle in for a couple of seconds and the lag isn't great. The CSL has the handling, throttle response, and enough speed to make it fun. Too much more speed is not more fun. You have to have had too much to appreciate that IMO.

Totally agree more power means less ability to use it on most roads, unless you like going in straight lines fast.
A bit like 1000 cc motorbikes give me a decent 750 or 600 anyday. |
