Replica CSL Rims
Hi,
There are a lot of replica CSL rims on the market. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and would reccomend a particular brand over another (or not reccomend a particular brand)? Reason I am asking is that a friend wants a set for his Z4, but doesn't want to pay 1000 odd for used CSL rims, would prefer 400-500 for a new set of reasonable quality reps. Cheers! |

I bought a set off Ebay back in 2010 for a E93 3 series. They looked great when they arrived but when i got them to my tyre man he said all were border line buckled...........the amonut of balacing weights required was ridiculous!
Having said that, once balanced i felt no wobbles or anything untoward? They never cracked and lasted me out........ I think the old adage applies.........you get what you pay for! |

A mate had some on his Z4M and all was good for a while, then he buckled one somehow.
So he then forked out for the genuine article. You pays your money....etc |

Yep, but then you can buckle an oem wheel easily.

I know people who have cracked reps in 5 minutes on a small pot hole. And I know people who run reps on track bouncing over kerbs at 100mph and they've been fine. Hit and miss I suppose. I'm asking myself the same question at the moment for track wheels.
