Alpine route to Salzburg...

As i understood and read correctly, we depart from Münich to Salzburg taking the Alpine routes. That i can imagine if we are heading south to Garmisch Partenkirchen and then taking our direction east to Salzburg. Or how do you guys plan that exactly? is there an exact route plan?

I will be leaving you guys on Monday after the planned day around Munich. I have cancelled my Salzburg room so there is a spare if anyone is still looking. At the original hotel that was 1st to book up.
I have a job in Magdeburg so will be heading up there.
