Well I just thought I would add to my original post to say I got to the Nordschleife Saturday night and went on track Sunday 31st and Monday 1st. Both days were incredibly busy particularly Sunday but Monday also as the GP track was opened as part of the Touristfahrt.
I took the 996 GT3 which was a first for me and managed to spin it on the the GP track and get into the gravel on another lap. Thank goodness for the run off. Nothing quite like going in too fast and blind to any of the track (I never watch F1). I had a sketch map on the dash but it was that busy with other cars and I did not have a clue on the braking or turn in points. Stupid I know but that is the luxury you have on a GP track I suppose. A fabulous two days either way and plenty of CSLs there both German and French. Not a British CSL in sight. Quite a few prangs in the usual spots: by the F1 intersection, Schwedenkreuz, after Kallenhard, Kesselchen, Hohe Acht and a massive spill by a Porsche all along Brunnchen and onwards. Happy days. My wife has a few pictures on her her iPhone although I am not sure if they can be loaded up through a non Mac laptop. I know that there were plenty of other photographers but I never saw the usual chap Jochen from Frozenspeed.
Anyway as it is me in a Porsche they would probably be removed my the moderators, you know what they are like . Pip Last edited by Pip1968; 05-08-2011 at 02:04 PM. Reason: spelling |
