I think you get my point.

I am not saying the 1M is a bad car, quite the contrary.
But it's not what the ///Marketing division is trying to promote that it is.
And in no way it can beat the CSL which is already 8 years old.
Also Andre seems to be a good driver and it's also his profession // driving cars.
But it seems that he is not that fast @ the Ring with the 1M.
The M3 CSL owner is slow (for whatever reason right... maybe he was on the phone with his Mrs, we don't know).
Throwing statements like ". I really doubt the 7.50 CSL ring time the 1M is pretty close already there no 25 sec difference. Mount some pilot sport cups on the 1M and there is not much in it." are a bit silly in such a uncontrolled comparison.

Love to all of you
i'm with CSL crowd here, Alex.

After all, i drive E46 M3 which was once, a CSL with no CSL vin.

All this 1M talk - it's the new car 'feeling' what i call. Hyper excited, not seeing the true picture.
1M is a brilliant car but not on par with CSL on Nordschleife. Never.

It did manage a better time on Bedford though, which is a technical track but the big torque and e92 M3 suspension played its part.

I tell you what, let him try keeping up with Lawsy first. If he can keep up with him he can move onto T$. If he can't keep it with the one armed crew he'd better call it a day.

The CSL had a few very strange lines, which you wouldn't expect of someone with that kind of experience. If it is the same car I am thinking of, then despite the laps experience, he can't drive a slippery stick up a dog's arse .

Admittedly it was a few years ago, but the guy I went to the Ring on 17th July with in the Z4M, previously had a normal E46 M3 with Intrax, APs and CSL wheels and was putting in conistant sub 8.20 BTGs - which the guy in the caged etc, white wrapped CSL refused to believe LOL.

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

Last time out at anglesey I had chance to drive the 1m, not on track but around the roads in the area of rhos neigr which I know very well.
The car is extremely quick in its standard out of the showroom form, this car had 1450 miles on the clock.
My track day buddy has bought one for his mrs.
The traction control light is on constantly with any spirited inputs on the loud pedal, but the chassis dynamics feel fantastic, almost feels like an e30 on roids.
Is it quicker than a csl, I don't know but as soon as I get my car off lawsy I'll drive em both and give an objective answer

These two comparisons make interesting reading, both for the Ring and Hockenheim.

I'm surprised how well the CSL performs against the GT3 at Hockenheim, wnd it shows still that the 1M has a gap in performance to match it.

I would guess that it is still the mid to high speed corner differences that will separate the two dramatically at the Ring, partly helped by the OEM Tyres on the CSL.
