I think most the original track tyres are better than the newer versions.
Check this comment out "Trofeo feels softer overall than the Pirelli Corsa Semis. It's dry grip isn't excellent and seems to have a tiny advantage over it's predecessor. I cannot really tell about wet grip, since I didn't go to the limit. But don't be fooled, it wears out very quick! I had them mounted factory new on my Ferrari F430 and planned to have fun all day in Mugello. After a couple fast laps, it started to overheat despite proper pressure. Soon after, I got back to the pits with completely worn out front tyres. The mechanics have never seen something like that before. I want the Corsas Semislicks to come back!!" T$

I’ve just recently put two 265/35/19 PSS on the rear of my E46 M3. I managed to get hold of them via my local ATS and they are reassuringly expensive.
So far I have been impressed with the level of grip in the wet. Not had them long enough to find any negative issues. |
