benchmark when getting a KDS set-up at a BMW
"Front Axle
Castor (left/right) = +7 deg 13 mins /+7 deg 12 mins Toe out on turns (left/right) = -1 deg 48mins / -1 deg 58mins Camber (left/right) = -1 deg 57mins / -1 deg 53mins Toe (left/right/total) = +0 deg 01mins / +0 deg 01mins / +0 deg 02mins Rear Axle Camber (left/right) = -0 deg 52mins / -0 deg 49mins Toe (left/right/total) = +0 deg 02mins / +0 deg 04mins / +0 deg 06mins Geometric Driving Axis = +0 deg 01mins Remember, -1 deg 60 min is the same as -2 degrees" "BMW dealers will only be able to achieve up to -2 degrees, more likely -1.75 degrees since they will not (for obvious warranty reasons) rotate the strut or remove the locating pin. With the locating pin removed you can get nearer -2.5 degrees with the OEM strut. Also rear toe will make quite a difference to agility into corners. But remember the greater the camber the less directionally stable the car will be. Not a problem on track or on smoother roads, but more effort on bumpy cambered b-roads. -2 degrees is perfectly comfortable if you like to feel the road through the steering wheel" |

While on the subject of 4 Wheel alignment and KDS, will have to do it again after changing the rear top mounts? Certainly hope not as the parts are cheap enough and I'd be replacing them myself!

If you're just changing the REAR top mounts then you will NOT need to realign your car, they have no bearing on your suspension geometry.
