Airbox intake pipe

Had to remove and re-fit the front bumper today. Everything seemed to go ok but couldn't get the two ends (triangular in shape) of the airbox intake pipe to connect back up. I wasn't paying much attention when I removed this bit as I was on my own and the bumper was just about to fall. I'm assuming the bumper end of the pipe goes over the airbox end but I just couldn't get it to fit. Gave up / ran out of time in the end and just left them resting against each other. Any tips or something I'm not doing right?
