Camber Adjustment for Eating Cups!
With discussion on what mm would be ok for a Ring week-nd. My Cups are being destroyed with the -2 Cam with the very few road miles I have done.
Rear Cups Aprox 3mm OK Front Cups aprox 4mm, but inner edge WHAT!!!? These look slightly Illegal but still drivable IMO? Seems a shame not to use with the 4mm left. I dont track on the 19's so only a road Wheel/ Tyre. So ideally want to go back to a '0' Camber for road. Then set -2/-2.5 for track when required. If I was to set the Camber back to '0' (Simpson TMS), do I set it as far as the adjustment goes or stop in between? Normally get the garage to sort but no time to run it over and thought id have a go. The Set up is coming off in the next few weeks, so the -2 isn't needed for the road at the moment and may go for a few casuals in the meanwhile. Ta in Advance fellas. Thats def TOE.
Either way if you push the camber out you wills start to eat away at the outside of the tyre

Sorry yea ment -1.5 as thats what it was set on before IIRC.
So would this have been due to improper set up or is this normal with this set up? My PS2s did the same and they were on before with the same settings. |

So too much Toe in, out? or just a combination of the Camber and too much Toe? Is this the norm when not driving hard on road, or not properly aligned when set up?
Surely these are below the legal 1.6mm minimum as my guys didn't want to put them through the MOT, so had to put my R888s on as my 18" Cups are not set up yet. |

1.6mm across central 3/4 of tyre not including any tread that is designed to wear out before the primary tread pattern.

Do you have adjustable top mounts? If not they are a wise investment if you run standard suspension. Will save you a fortune in Cups. Mine was set up at Simpson Motorsport. -2 for road with options to push camber to -2.5 or -3 for track with a quick adjustment. For my style of driving and use, anything less than -2 wears the outside edge of my tyres. As mentioned above, that is definately a toe issue.
