Default BHP at the wheels??

out of curiosity the MSV Trophy series is running three classes this year and a couple ofmy OPL buddies are running an E30M3.

The three classes are under 200bhp/ton, undr 175bhp/ton, under 150bhp/ton

If we presumed for a minute a stock CSL like DuncanR;s was race prepped, where would it sit re groups

Note the weight includes driver and is to be measured as minimum at the END OF THE RACE. BHP is at the wheels.

Now if we presume DuncanR's car with a cage and driver (fat one) could be 1380kg(car) + 100Kg(driver) = 1480kg, we would need 296 bhp at the wheels or under to get within the grade!

What is the wheel bhp of the CSL at the wheels?

As a rough estimate - 260 wheel = about 320 fly

Now I know that is at the power to weight at the wheels I might stick some cups on and give it a go, that is very cheap racing!

We'll have to borrow Duncan's

Looks like a great way to start racing, 2 drivers sharing the experience and the cost is a great way to do it.

Depends on dyno or how they are measuring it but stock CSL is around 295-300bhp at the wheels so its probably do-able.

Talk to me boys !! Last time car was corner weighed it came in empty at 1405 kgs, there are a few interior bits and bobs to come out, as in passenger seat and harness, door cards roof lining, odd brackets, headrests etc.and dont forget that my roll cage isnt really a full on racing cage so there will be additional weight going in as well, also FX,datalogger and battery cutoff.
I can see it now M3 Masonic Racing Banned as Brothers !

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/ne...sp?NewsID=5381 Online registration is also open for two pre-season events organised by Club MSV to prepare budding racers for their entry into motorsport. The first is a trackday at Brands Hatch on 18 February where drivers can take their ARDS National B racing licence test
