Oil level on computer reading -- --
As above the oil level on my computer is now reading -- -- after constantly reading 0.7l this happened once before and it soon came back, this time it's been a couple of days and still not got a reading back.
Any ideas? Sensor issue? Cheers! |

Yup this is normal, happens to me after every trackday but comes back on the long drive home.
If you go for a decent drive 30-60 mins and it doesn't come back i would get it checked out. |

Normal as above... It recalibrates every so often. I only do 8m or so a day normally so it can take a few days for mine to reset but always does and always back to 0.6l. Threw me the first time as well though... As Bealo says best thing to do is go for a decent run.

The oil level should be between 0.1 - 1.0 lt.
Ideal is higher than 0.7 lt. The one you see normally is the long term reading. You can get an instant reading, by starting the car, let the engine in idle and keep the 'sport' button pressed. |

Thanks, will give this a go. Car hasnt had a proper runout for a while now has been doing lots of short journeys, which seems to be why this is happening. A run to Scotland next weekend will no doubt sort this out

Mine mostly shows -- because it rarely even gets fully warm Also if you only drive really hard it can't get a reading (hence the trackdays having that effect). It takes a 'normal' steady drive of about 15 miles or so (at a guess) to get it's longterm reading By the way, for the instantaneous reading to work (on the sport button) make sure the car is FULLY upto temp AND parked on flat ground, otherwise it won't work. Switch the OBC to oil level reading and let the car idle for a few mins. If you get -- on that reading then you haven't left it idling for long enough (needs about 2 mins from memory). |
