The colour layout is based on the Catalunya car that ran in the V6 Trophy race series in the 90's, went for a graphite colour though whereas that car had it in black.

Decals are personal choice although some are the same as the Trophy cars had.

The car got a ridiculous amount of attention prior to this being done.....now it's off the scale!

Stranger revisiting again....

Some folk just can't stay away!!

Anyhow, 1st question....where would anyone recommend for track driving tuition? (Peter, calm down man).....not being elitist by any means but loathe to turn up to any old track day where someone in a Clio decides they have a point to prove. If the car got any body damage it'd be written off as no panels available!

Secondly, there has been one or two changes to the mad thing!

Managed to find a set of the original Cromodora wheels that were fitted to the V6 Trophy cars, only 5 sets per car were made. More likely to find unicorn cr*p under your sofa than these things .....also some Trophy brake cooling ducts.



Also discovered someone who makes a proper mounting plate for the V6 Trophy spoiler so, one of those had to go back on the car..


This is how it sits now and, with all the changes, it seems a waste not to at least try it on a track.

Your car is looking superb. You must have spent some time & effort on it. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh & having a ride.

It's taken me all night to get over the shock of you taking about track driving.
Personally I like Colin at CAT driver training. Had a few lessons at Millbrook with him and a day at Donny.
I have found that the instructors at track days in the main just sit there & say nothing and I learn nothing.

Look forward to hearing about what you decide to do. Whatever it is have a great time.
Regarding idiots on track just slow down, let them go and have the track to yourself again. Watch out for really fast cars such as Radicals by using your mirrors, especially in breaking zone/turn in point.

Just go to Bedford on any trackday and hire one of the instructors there. Bedford has loads of run-off and only a few places where you are likely to hit a barrier (but you would have to be properly trying to do that ).

It's easily the best place for a newbie . Be warned, it is highly addictive.

Make sure you have decent pads and fluid, as the standard road stuff will give you a fright when it overheats and the peddle goes to the floor .

Thought it may be time for another update as a few here showed some interest in the car

Mid November last year some clown managed to run into the back of me as I was sat at a set of traffic lights. The damage didn't look too bad, dented tailgate, split rear bumper and bent exhaust tips. Fortunately the lad instantly admitted full liability to both me and his insurers so all good.

Took the car down to the specialist in Chippenham who looks after it for an estimate as it would be him that would sort out the repairs as needed. Two weeks later he gave me the estimate, it was £11500. The hidden damage list was quite long, the bonding of the rear composite panels had broken, the main rear beam was bent and the list goes on!

After the 3rd party insurers had stopped trying to fill me with crappy excuses as to why the repairs hadn't been approved, the threat of legal action led to them being approved within 2 hrs. Having a guaranteed value of 3 times the repair cost more or less gave them no option.

I'd often thought about doing the reqd alterations to the rear bumper to make it along the lines of the V6 Trophy cars. The only thing that stopped was how much it would cost however, seeing as the only thing holding the rear bumper together was the wrap, now was the time to do it. A small crack was found in the nearside door composite part so that was done as was a crack found in one of the sill extensions.

The modification of the rear bumper would leave the exhaust on show which would create another problem as these things aren't designed to be on show. The exhaust on the car had been changed to a Janspeed back box and 2 x 3 branch manifolds staright into said box. Gave Scott a free hand to do whatever he wished with it so ended up with the 1.5" exit pipes being changed to 3" and a SS cover over the silencer, looks much better. Eventually got the car back at the end of March.

Also managed to source a 2nd set of Cromodora wheels and decided to go for it and had them done in yellow. Not a wise move and have decided to have them re-done in a mid grey.

Anyhow, obligatory pic time and the video is of the detailer guy reversing it into his unit to reapply the deals and yes, a brake light is out

Yes, silver wheels look much nicer than yellow
