Default Couple of questions from a new owner

Hello all,

I've got a few questions now that I've had a good few weeks with the car.

1) What's rattling in the rear left quarter? Sounds metallic, took the wheel off, shook everything, put the wheel back on, bounced the suspension a bit, can't hear anything. Then when I go over small bumps like drain covers or divots int he road, a tiny rattle.

2) Do 18s fit over AP brakes? Are they the same size as OEM? Thinking of getting some track / winter wheels sorted.

Some 18s may not clear front AP CP5555 brakes (original E46 calliper), but CP5575 is a tiny bit thinner and clear OEM 18 M3 rims and others. Generally you should be ok if you have CP5575.

i had a slight rattle / scrape noise once in the rear wheel,

took the disc of and you can get rust / crap caught between the inner disc and the hand brake pads or you might have something loose in there

Try and fit an 18" wheel ...

..or you'd need to take a close look at the caliper/carrier for serials/numbers etc, find the receipt in the paperwork or ask the previous owner
