Default Forget diesel, hybrid etc.. CSL returns 39mpg

Filled her up, drove along at 60-70mph then was pleasantly surprised to see the mpg achieved... perfect family car this... done over 37 miles

Had mine over 40 mpg when I brought it home from Bromsgrove!

(but only because I was too scared to press the throttle )

Was getting over 35 mpg when I collected the car from Londonshire, haven't been able to replicate that since. I blame short journeys and a gorgeous sounding engine

It's only a matter of time before G-dog swings by with the GTOTD award for this

p.s. 35 MPG has been my best over 40 ish miles before I got bored driving like a saint to achieve this sort of numbers ... dropped a few cogs, SPORT button On and straight down to mid/low 20's MPGs where it belongs

I've had over 40 on the M-Way at 65-70. It's incredible for that engine, the age, size and output. Avoids continual fill-ups all the time which you can't avoid in some cars and long road trips don't become wallet killers.
And then when you come off the motorway you drive it properly not feeling too guilty. Amazing engine.
