Cheers for all, well most of the comments.
They are fairly chunky looking in the flesh, the standard one looks a bit naff but the AMG kitted one with the chunkier bumpers and nicer interior is much nicer. Have to agree with you though Jonny, the screen arrangement is a bit of an afterthought and the guy in Agnews wasn't chuffed when I asked if it could be removed and put in the glovebox. The more I look at it though, the more I 'get used to it'. Not too interested in leasing one to be honest, would rather purchase but thanks for the heads up. The prices vary greatly from £21k up to well over £30k for a well specced, very low miler. They are more expensive that the average hatchback I agree but I only hope to see a similar gap at the other end of the ownership, like most things. I will be waiting until the January sales anyway, end Feb but thought I would start doing a bit of digging now. Auto or Manual? I'm for Auto if I'm honest. Again, my Wife does a fair bit of town driving so feel the absence of a clutch pedal would do her good. Last edited by sailorbaz; 19-11-2013 at 07:41 AM. |

I was in the Mercedes garage only a few days ago & I wasn't impressed with the sales guy. |

Was reading about the i3 after Shimmy mentioned it the other day but the range of 80-100miles puts me off. I know you could go for the 'Range Extender' but you're into £34k starting price. For an interior the way it looks, it's too much. And besides, she doesn't like the look of it. Last edited by sailorbaz; 20-11-2013 at 07:45 AM. |

There is only 2 N.I Mercedes dealers both owned by Agnews, I think they would cartel the car trade in N.Ireland given the change, my Grandad always drove Mercedes & used a garage in Colraine, forgotten their name, were next door to JKC later moved out to where McD’s is now beside the Jet Centre & they lost that, my Dad drove Saab for 20yrs & always bought from Ivan Wilson with one exception of Thomson’s, both of them lost out to Agnew’s, TJ’s were also an Audi dealer on Union Street across from the bingo hall & they lost it to Agnew’s. My problem with this is one dealer, for anything not just cars right out on the east coast can not service the whole province, for example Agnews can not expect someone from Derry or Fermanagh to drive 2-3hrs either way to purchase or service their car, if there is to be only one dealer it must be central for everyone not just one side of the map. My last experience with Agnew Mercedes, my Mum had one of the very first A Class, bad car tho I’m sure they’ve improved now, she came in one day saying there is something wrong with the back of the car, story cut short we put it on a lift & the coil spring fell out onto the floor & the shock was dangling, I rang Mercedes asking them to come get the car to be told there recovery service only covered a certain ratios from Belfast & Cookstown was outside that so it was either make your own way or they will charge for the recovery. They story got worse from there to. |
