Default Out of hours MOT

For me it can often be a hassle to get a car in for its MOT during regular working hours. I either have to get someone to do it for me, wait with the car, or get someone to pick me up and run me back.

Would you prefer to take yours for one during the hours of say 3pm til 10pm? Saving you taking time off work. Just sit at the garage with a cup of coffee and watch some tele.

Or is it really not that much bother for others?

I normally just go somewhere first thing on a Saturday morning. I guess if there was somewhere I could go from 7pm-10pm and wait while they do it that would be ideal. Any idea how long a MOT takes nowadays? Am taking mine somewhere local first thing on Saturday morning but need to shoot off to work afterwards.

Think the minimum time is 45mins, but they allow for 1hr.

i always wait with mine, some garage can't be trusted!

my local MOT station have animals working there, ragging the customers cars i drink with two of the employee's at the local so know what goes on, still wouldn't trust them as far as i could throw them!

they had a Ferrari 550M come in, 1800 miles on the clock, special F1 edition. they all took it out and hammered it.

This is why I go to a bloke I know where I can wait and who won't screw me about. I refuse to send my car to BMW to do the MOT as I'm too worried about kerbed wheels or some oink ragging the bollocks off my car in their lunch break.

When I had my last MOT done I decided to get it done at my local
BMW dealership. I always drive my car in SMG mode 3. I got in after having the MOT done and noticed it was in mode 6 all out attack I was
not impressed someone had been booting my car.

It shouldnt have been in 6 unless the car was running and traction control was off?

Still, doesnt mean you can trust them. I once had a call from a friend saying "just met your car going like F round the bypass"...
