Csl kick/sill plates, need refurb
X2 Csl kick plates. One has been sanded ready to be re lacquered, just needs a few minutes prep. The other is un touched and corroded as you can see in pic.

Same question? Mine weren't that bad but put new ones in and binned the old ones. If I'd know I could have got 50 quid for them I'd have popped them up for sale!

Yes they can be refurbed, however if you re-lacquer the tendency is for them to turn milkie again, my thinking was to use 'Venture Shield' or similar, to wrap then

I wonder if just polishing them would be better, after all, it's the laquer that is the problem in the first place. Suppose they would then scratch easily, so venture sheild would be a good idea.
I'll be getting my car covered in venture shield soon, so may as well rub them back and see how they turn out and get them done at the same time - nothing to loose, was going to buy new ones anyway! |
