Pagid RS14's, I am thinking these may be knacked from the discs being fitted round the wrong way but I don't want to fit a brand new set of pads and find they also get wrecked due to the discs being screwed, seem to be going round in circles with the brakes on my CSL. If I have to bite the bullet and order new set of discs and pads then I will suffer it but thought I would see what I could do. I would probably be willing to get them skimmed by someone and see if that sorts the job.

sorry to be so blunt but i wish someone had said it to me at the time

I whole heartedly disagree with this post!

So the story goes that the guy who fitted the discs put them on the wrong way round. I also didn't change the pads to new ones when I put the new discs on which in hindsight was a mistake. So by the time I was told the discs had been fitted incorrectly I had been to Le Mans and back.

I have had the discs swapped round but after running them for a few months on my existing RS14's, I still have a wobble when braking. I would feel pain binning them as they are literally brand new hence the reason I thought I would try getting them skimmed as I would imagine the heat build up from them being fitted incorrectly may have taken them past the point where simply fitting new pads will sort the job and clean them up.

Cheers
Nick

you 'may' have glazed your pads as they may not have been in full contact with the disc? Is your disc fully swept by the pads?? Upon close inspection can you see any smears on the disc? Have you taken the pads out to see what they look like? how worn down were they?

I have replaced everything correctly in the past, and also incorrectly, and there is always a way to sort it out
