I never used it either.
Its in the manual, and have a search on youtube there are videos.

All sorted, I went to London last night and suddenly remember to try it on a steep hill. It Worked fine. Must only work past a certain incline.

I knew it was there but have never tried it, i just use my left foot on the foot brake.

It's the hill assist mode .... it rides the clutch like a bitch ... I wouldn't use it - like many have said, handbrakes on a hill like a normal manual.
