You sarcastic fucker, I like it

I was about to say the same, it looks like a 8.10 ish iirc, so he still has 20 seconds in stock form to find.

hit a 7.50 or better, then start modding.

The above is not criticism, because undoubtably you are quick. Great lap.

Lol, but I meant it,I'm not that sarcastic.

Looking at the time graphic at the top, I thought it was BTG 7:50?
Either time is a lot faster than anything I've turned in

I wish I had the funds to setup camp and spend a month there, I wonder how many laps you'd need to be competent

My 2 pennuth for what its worth as a newbie at the ring ... Get a cage in before you push any harder in a stock car, 2 reasons, main one being safety , secondly, just caging it is an upgrade of sorts as it will stiffen the car up... Then go from there.

I done an 8.10 BTG with traffic and passenger on far far far too soft springs which where hitting the inner arches like a mofo- carousel was 25-30mph max.

That was approx my 15th lap.

I am quite a quick learner, and I get to a point pretty quick- I reach a point and cant get further, its frustrates at times. This was the main reason I sold my first CSL- different story. People start of slower than me but then catch up and slowly go faster

I reckon on my next visit I could do a 7.50 BTG, on right set-up. I am by no means the greatest driver. My next step is lessons- Shim highly recommends this....

I have a couple of vids with Dunc chasing me doing approx 8.15, I need to upload them to youtube actually.

well I have to mention I spend many many time in 2009 to try to make a super fast lap with my GTR. I finished on 7:57 WHOLE LAP. but it's very very difficult to get a no traffic lap where nobody slows you down in those speeds. I was on I guess 6 public days and 4 or 5 club days like pisten in this year and I believe I get only couple chances to have "empty" track

so I don't believe I can ever go close to 7:50 whole lap with CSL as this was done by some test pilot on CLOSED TRACK.

I just want to go a little quicker and still be safe, means mainly suspension which are a bit weak and the car almost flies at schwedenkreutz from 240 higher (and I can go 260 there with this baby) and also fuchsrohre can be quicker but after the compression there the car is a bit unstable in the upcoming lest corner even when I go 220 in fuchsrohre, but from just power point of view 240 is feasible

Either way you are v fast there.

I feel to get a csl any faster round the ring would require power and power only.

The brakes/susp etc as standard are well suited to the ring, although a more aggressive geo will help corner grip slightly.

Try it and let us know how you get on.

7.57 is a very very quick time.

ok so I used my drift box today at the ring... and voila 7:59 BTG not bad I guess :-)

I just downloaded the data from droftbox and loaded BTG overlay from diftbox tools and it says 7:54 how is the difference possible? did I set it wrong BTG on the box? I mean the star and finish line?

and says VMax 234? I=d guess more, but ok this is GPS speed not speedo

Just remember ... racing is for setting times and collecting trophies .. this is the ring and there is no champagne spraying after ..

My advice enjoy the ring for what it is and forget your watch, want to set times .. get yourself a race licence and compete

I'm not racing at public days at the ring, i'm just curious what times can non-pro drivers do there with stock or almost stock car do and compare

Andrew on here the previous owner of my car, full spec in vBgarage, used to do BTG of 7:40, I asked him how he did it earlier in the year, and he said by scaring himself ! ... enough said. He used to do a few hundred laps a year at the Ring whilst he was based in europe.
Like you he started to get faster and faster, but took the very sensible decision of chucking a cage in , and adding the Intrax suspension.
