I would imagine that it would be straight forward as the wiring loom is already in place for the radio.

If i were you i would consider fitting an aftermarket head unit of some description, whether it be a cd player or iPod head unit, as the BMW player is hardly what you could class as 'hi-fi'...

So far i have replaced my old BMW Business CD player with an Alpine iDA-X300 iPod head unit as well as new Rainbow components on the back shelf. I have a second set of Rainbows to go in the front when i get a spare day to do it!

To put a new head unit in, all you need is a wiring adapter harness and aerial connector lead as well as a fascia surround to fill the hole nicely:

It's plug and play - I've done it with mine - the wiring's are exactly the same - even the ipod aux input line will work.

Just make sure that you get the latest CD53 model with the world tuner and sirius ready.

It also sounds a little better too - as rather than being an Alpine made unit, the Business CDs are made by Blaupunk (sp?)
