I don't think there is any real need to upgrade the OEM setup but if you want the looks by all means go for it.

I fitted goodridge brake lines, Castrol SRS brake fluid & Performance Friction 08 Compond pads & had no issues at all doing 9 laps @ the Ring in 35° heat.

This is a bit of a false economy as the the pagids will last twice as long if doing heavy track braking. I've been through lots of sets of Pagids/EBC and carbonne Lorraine and I think Carbonne lorraine RC5+ are the best compromise between performance, price and longevity.

I agree with Mkoop, The BBK is a nice thing to have but I think the standard set up with braided lines, Castrol SRF and decent pads will be more than enough stopping power for anyone. I ran this set up on my old M3 and never had any braking problems

I found after ten roundabouts and a few long straights my standard brakes on my M3 gave up and peddle to the floor

My standard brakes have braided lines and ds2500 pads, not had any issues as yet, just thinking ahead for track days....Maybe give them a go next year and see how i get on.

you should be fine. Have you done many trackdays? I often find people who are relatively new to track driving cook their brakes because they are on the brakes for too long too often as opposed to the quick dab of the brakes the quicker guys use.

obvioulsy it all depends on the track but as long as you're not riding the brakes, that set up should be fine but I'd change your fluid with castrol SRF - It's basically boil proof! standard fluid is useless

Yes been doing track days for around 12 years with various cars......That makes me feel old !!!

Barry, I threw on the Carbon Lorraine RC5+ pads for the Mondello track day back in Feburary & there wasn't much pad left after it. Switced to performance friction 08 compound which is an endurance pad & had no issue's and the wear rate is much improved. They also come with anti-rattle clips

To be honest The Ring is not that aggressive on brakes as there are only a few places you need to brake hard. Into Aremberg after Schweden-kreuz down Breidscheid and Bergwerk, so OEM with better hoses, pads & Race Brake fluid work OK. It's when you start doing UK track days as well, Bedford as a good example, U realise BBK is a must.
I've been there, done the upgraded OEM stuff and still ended up with BBK to cover all eventualities
