I was an adult when Group B was at it's best and I will confirm it pissed all over WRC in terms of being an 'event'. WRC cars are actually quicker than Group B over most stages due to the improvements in suspension and transmissions but they are miles off Group B in terms of noise and spectacle. Group 4 Escorts, Manta's and HSR's which just sounded ace and went sideways (being RWD) brilliantly were also more exciting too if you ask me.

The 6R4 sounded fantastic, as did the Stratos and hearing a 6R4 come screaming through a rally stage in the forests was fantastic as its bark echoed around the trees. Group B was explosive power and their 0-100 times were much quicker than WRC but they didn't have any of the trick diffs or balance of the current WRC cars. Watch a Quattro S1/S2 and you will see what a total dog it was, I mean awful understeer but get it on a straight bit and listed and watch and is was amazing!

I miss Group B and Group 4 and I miss the Lombard RAC Rally which actually went over Britain not just around some parks in Wales!
