Default The dreaded MPG question

Apologies if this has been asked before, I done a search on the forum and found no info.

I've been looking at the costs of buying a CSL and trying to keep it on the road financially. Probably not the top of most peeps agenda on here but can anybody advise on the fuel consumption ?

I done a quick guesstimate that these run at 20p a mile but I'm pretty sure that's not realisitic in day to day life

Thanks for any info

22-24mpg average.

30ish at an 80mph cruise; 9-12 around the track.

So on Average then around 20p a mile.....

Best case 15p and......

Track case 48p

Currently doing 2/3k miles a month meaning around £400 to 600.

Not TOO scary then

cheers

I find the fuel computer is 2-3mpg out - the wrong way

True mpg i get 23mpg @ 80mph cruise, but my car could well be mapped, not sure until i get her on the dyno.

Either way - i always fill up with Shell V-max/Optimax whatever its called - and i rarely get more than 200 miles to a full tank.

No idea when it comes to 'pence per mile', I'm afraid. There seems little point trying to calculate it this way when petrol prices fluctuate so much...

Blimey! Are you driving an Evo FQ340?!

I'm similar to Bravo73. If i'm very careful (boring) with the right foot, i can squeeze 350ish miles from a full tank. That's long haul motorway driving at a steady 85mph and a little 'A' roads 50-70mph.

My car is Stage 1 tune (370bhp running Shell V-Power)

Glen - im rarely "careful/boring" when driving the CSL - as soon as i hear that induction roar all hell breaks loose!! That said i genuinely dont believe its possible to get 350 miles to a tank - no way!!!!???? Are you sure that your Stage 1 tune didnt involve putting a diesel engine in as a replacement!!!??
