Default Who has a spare genuine bumper without flippers on that can help me?

Basically I've bought one of these:
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9966

The finish isn't up to my standard and what I want to do is make a proper 4x4 twill pre-preg one. However, before I do, I want to make sure it actually fits a CSL bumper (and I haven't got a car yet).

It appears that one side of "notching" to make it fit a CSL bumper was done pre-lacquering and the other side post lacquering. Having had my carbon guy examine it in detail, if this is a genuine Vorsteiner item (as the stickers on it attempt to confirm), then the quality of their products to quote German - is scheiße . However, I have no experience of their products to know if this is the case or not (anyone who has, feel free to comment).

I was hoping I could send it to a nice helpful owner, who could offer it up to their spare CSL bumper and confirm it does indeed fit to a satisfactory level, before I went to the hassle of making a proper one. Otherwise it means waiting until I get a car (which could be a couple of months at this rate).

Many thanks .

Steve,
You shouldn't have posted . As someone I know, do you fancy helping out ? I have no idea how easy it is to whip the flippers off? Do you want to see if this fits properly for me ?

You'll be pleased to know I don't think the CSL is cool enough to pull off all gold wheels .

In all seriousness I'll test fit it to my car if you want as the std splitters pop off easy enough.

It fits ... I have 2 of those ... one in 1x1 and the other in 2x2.
The 1x1 is brand new and fitted like shit. I had to modify it quite a bit to get it to fit properly on a genuine CSL bumper.

I also have a vorsteiner CSL bumper and it fitted okay on that (shows the mould wasn't done very well).

The 2x2 that I have is second hand first generation mould and this fitted way better on the genuine CSL bumper, but doesn't actually fit the Vorsteiner CSL bumper LOL (it was too long).

Vorsteiner stuff is crap.

It's a single layer weaved fiberglass + a single layer of mesh + another layer of carbon fiber - and then vacuum infused. It is NOT pre-preg carbon fiber - far from it (it's the cheapest weight you can get basically). The epoxy they use is also shit - it has zero give and cracks like a mother fucker with any sort of flex.

Photo below: (note - there's actually a slight gap under the radiator opening - the older Vorsteiner lip (the 2x2 weave I have) have 5 holes in the lip so you can drill into the bumper to secure it with plastic clips) - the brand new 1x1 I had has no such holes - most of the guys in the USA just use black window silicon to glue this part on, I used double sided 3M VHT tape, still comes off at the track however - best solution if you are looking at fitting this properly is to drill the holes and use the clips.

I'll post up some more photos tonight of both the genuine bumper with the lip and the Vorsteiner bumper with the lip. I was actually playing with these just the other day!!

I also have the Vorsteiner CSL replica splitters (i.e. individual left and right hand side flippers as some on here like to call them) and believe it or not, these actually fit quite well on the genuine CSL bumper. Might be a cheap alternative for someone not wanting to go down the OEM route.

Thanks so much for the pictures and comments, at least I know that it is supposed to be like that.

Steve,
If you could do whatever is necessary so that it fits perfectly on a standard bumper, I'd be forever in your debt .

I find the gen. looks way better. But thats just me. I suppose it will protect the CSL front bumper more though, especially the middle jaw.
