BMW Mini Cooper S faults?

Hi guys, Hope you are all well and have had a good start to 2013...! This is me posting as a member.. not J-Detail today! I was after some advice as you guys seem switched on with all things BMW... And this kiiinda is! lol

55 plate Mini Cooper S has flagged the airbag light up! Now i have read its a common fault, normally wiring related, and i will have a play with that tomorrow, but was interested if any of you guys have come across this? I have seen a tool that will diagnose and reset lights, but i havent seen if it will do after a 2003 model... BMW.. no i lie, MINI are asking a small fortune to diagnose and then mess around fault finding and wiring etc... and just waffle alot of std dealer speak...

It makes no sense when i could maybe do it!

Also have a rattle that i think is the maybe the Supercharger, but more likely timing chain pre tensioner.. its only on idol, normally when cold, and it goes away with revs, and it also is intermittent when hot, i reckon the tensionor is getting stuck.. but any ideas?
