Hi from Newbie
Hi All,
Just wanted to say hi and say that at some point I hope to own one of this great cars. At the moment I was seeing it as an interim step to a gt3 but by the sounds of it these get under your skin and are hard to part with I have owned an e36 328iS back in the day and my current A 2 B banger is an e46 316Ti Compact. I run a slightly modified Porsche 964 C2 coupe as my current weekend car which has been a rolling project over last 3 years. Some quick CSL related questions: 1. Any owners on here who are around 6'4 and use their car on track? Any issues fitting with a helmet on with the fixed seats? 2. Are the seats comfortable or only really suited for shorter people with slim builds (I am neither) ? This and pt one are my biggest concerns at the moment 3. If I do like one and want to get it inspected are there any recommendations for an independent check over? 4. Does anyone run one of these without the warranty or is this just a possibly bankruptcy waiting to happen? 5. Is there anyone in Sidcup/Eltham area who wouldn't mind showing me around their pride and joy? 6. Any BMW indies in the south east London area that current CSL owners use and swear by in terms of knowledge and quality of service? Cheers |

Yes, I am the same height and no probs on TDs 2. Are the seats comfortable or only really suited for shorter people with slim builds (I am neither) ? This and pt one are my biggest concerns at the moment No probs 3. If I do like one and want to get it inspected are there any recommendations for an independent check over? Take it to Elms, Cambridge. Not convinced by SE Indys based on experience 4. Does anyone run one of these without the warranty or is this just a possibly bankruptcy waiting to happen? No, get one with warranty 5. Is there anyone in Sidcup/Eltham area who wouldn't mind showing me around their pride and joy? Yes...am in E LDN and happy to mate. Beware if you are a car jacker, I will reign down great vengeance and furious anger on you though. I am also 6 4" wide. 6. Any BMW indies in the south east London area that current CSL owners use and swear by in terms of knowledge and quality of service? See 3. Won't bad mouth on here, but my experience of a particular one in your area was not positive. |
