How can you tell a CSL ecu from a standard E46 ecu ? Any coding on it etc.

Many thanks

Will have MSS54HP written on it for one. As for the actual file that is written in it, no could be anything these days especially if second hand.

If you have an MSS54HP ecu you can have the CSL files written on it though.

So doesn't really matter.

Hope that makes sense!?

That's incorrect, it's different hardware.

Didn't say it wasn't different on the inside just said that you can load CSL software onto an MSS54HP ecu

If you just want to know how to tell the difference from the outside it will have CSL written on it after the MSS54HP, standard one will not have CSL written on it, obviously.
