Default Square set up

Ladies & Gents, I'm looking for a definitive answer to this one.... 255 / 35 / 18 front, 255 / 35 / 18 rear.

I'm told it's not good and aquaplanning is even worse.

Please help out!!

Someone is talking rubbish

Depends on geo and front camber you can manage to get but overall more front grip is good (dial out some of that BmW understeer that saves noddy drivers)

I'd say get as big in the back as you can for rear grip 265 or 275 and then see if you can get them on front. I doubt you'll manage 275 but I've got 265 front and rear ok, all camber ranges, no tram lining

i also thought of 245 - 265 like in e92 M3.... i'll experiment and report back with some data.

The grip difference wil make gains when you are at the edge for sure on track but on road prob no benefit.

Biggest benefit of square set up is that on track you can swing the rears to front and vice versa and tyre wear will reduce as front and rear wear diffenrently.

Only if you're a big wet blouse
As a spare set of wheels (mainly track) I run the stock E46 M3 9J rears X4 square set up with 265/35/18 DUNLOP DZ02 without any probs
I hope that's definitive enough for you Kris

On a very wet track a square set-up pulls like a mofo, but on a dry track its far better.

Unless you drive a skoda and can only pass things on track in monsoon conditions then dont worry about the wet weather handling.

As Shim and others, I ran a square setup 265 35 18 on my car and have to say I felt far more in control and faster on square set-up than on conventiional set up, that said I ran e92 cup+ tyres on my CSL at the ring, and other than the springs being far too soft it hooked up pretty well.

My advice is just try them, everyone drives different and prefer different set-up.
