Default Smg ii to dtc

Hi,

SMG II comes with Clutch Slur.

DCT comes with throttle lag.

Hi,

I should have added that
no amount of software
updates will ever resolve the
DCT issue either.

DCT has 2 clutches, so 1,3,5 and 7th
gear are on one, and 2,4 and 6th are on
the other.

When changing down quickly on the
down shift, there will always be a delay
as the clutch has to change from one clutch to the
other in order to be able to undertake
the 'sequential pattern' downshift.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

Interesting.

I have no issues at all with my DCT but I don't ever use D mode and it is bang upto date firmware.

There's certainly nothing as annoying as that bloody CSL SMG clutch slurrr

You will because it's a feature

I bet people who don't use them much don't see it, because I used to find that leaving the car alone for 3 or 4 days made the problem go away for a while.
God knows why. Anyway, not something I have to get mad about now

Not really a lot for the driver to learn when you're just flicking a paddle and you have your foot to the floor

PS - if anyone's reading and not knowing what we're talking about - these are full (or more than 50%) throttle shifts in the 4-6k RPM range. The change can slurr (or slip) for a second or two before giving full forward drive. It comes and goes like the weather, almost random.

It's a shame BMW never sorted it. Having owned my CSL for 7 years since new in July 2003, it's the only thing that really spoilt the ownership experience upto the day I sold it a few weeks ago.

You sold it?

I am also fortunate to have not had any clutch slur issues. I've had mine just under 2.5 years.

Yep. I was a little sad but I fancied a change. 7 Years is a long time. I doubt there are many in the UK who have owned a CSL as long as me!

Fair enough, i'm sure there aren't many 1 owner cars left.

Did you trade for an E92?
