What a day
Went on my long trip to Murketts today for the second time in as many months.Left at 4am this morning and got back to cornwall 10pm tonight,760mile round trip.As some of you may know i went to get my clutch sorted to stop the slur.As my CSL was on 62k miles,Andy Pressland told me if my clutch plate was worn below 1.1mm then the BMW warranty would not give me a clutch and fly wheel under warranty, and i would have to pay the £1650 bill myself,so i was worried untill lunchtime when they got the gearbox out after taking the exhaust and what looked like everything else off the underside of the car and spread it over the workshop floorAnyway to cut a long story short,Andy and the techy showed me the old clutch plate,it was still in really good condition, and looked good for another 60k miles. So 2 techys put it all back together with new clutch and flywheel, reset the smg,and had me on my way by 5pm,all paid for on warranty bar the £100 excess. The techy also commented what good condition the under side of the car was for a 62k miler, and one of the best ones he had driven..I didnt go mad on the way home, but what a differance,no slur at all.So well done to Andy and the Guys up at Murketts, made my trip worth while again.

Shimmy when you refer to "gearbox springs" where about's are they in the gear box.
At present I have my gearbox off and inspected for any damage when the Actuator fell to bits. I am pleased to say that the condition of the gears are excellent but would be interested in replacing the springs. Do you know the part number ? Cheers
