My thoughts are, if seats are a requirement, the E60 M5, if not, either GT3 or my favourite, GT3 RS, ideally in 997 guise if your pockets are deep enough!
In the end, I have decided I cannot justify the extra 30k+ for a 996 GT3 RS and so have decided to keep my CSL and run 2 cars. Consequently I have recently bought a Mondeo diesel as my car for ferrying the kids around in saving the CSL for more personal driving! I think though probably early next year it will be time for me to change and the M5 is looking like my obvious choice! |

I do use my CSL daily for trips to the office but as I have 4 kids, I am one seat short! As the thought of my wife driving the CSL to places like Total Fitness as returning with dings and scratches all over (car not her I hasten to add!) is just so unpalatable, she takes her V70 leaving me high and dry - hence the need for a third car purely for me to take the kids out in - sad but true!!

Very tricky...I have spent the last 6 months trying to decide what to repalce it with.
Thought about Shelby Mustang but its rather short on quality and not a track car by any means. £ for £ there's nothing especially when you factor in the 4 seats.

I know it is a rather large step change but what about a Ford GT.
I was in Chester today and passed the Ford dealership. They had a Ford GT onsite so thought this too much of an offer to miss and pulled into the forecourt. The car, although in the showroom was open and the staff more than willing to let me (and 2 of my ankle bitters) get inside it and sample the GT experience. What a machine, I have never sat in anything quite so exotic before, apart from the fact that I nearly decapitated myself when I closed the door I thought the car was great. If my pockets were deep enough just now I would love to take the plunge and arrange a testdrive in one with a view to purchasing one. It felt much more like a super car than any F430 or 997 I have ever sat in! |
