Fantastic Daz. Picture solutions of tart up and new wheel colour. Look forward to seeing it at Ring in November mate. Should be ready for that right?
Did the car go back to Munich? Any info on how they made the repair?

It's something to do with a new stance BMW HQ are taking with dealers and warranty work. They're onto the fact that the dealers have been using it as a free meal ticket, so are starting to reject more things.
In the past, the dealer would make the decision and BMW HQ rarely overturned it. I'm told this has changed and BMW HQ are rejecting loads, resulting in dealers being out of pocket. So most cases are referred to BMW HQ now. Gravy-train had to end eventually...

According to the tech who called me the wheel speed sensor failed at 320kmh (198mph) so was not covered under warranty as I had been on the track, Apparently there computer tells them exactly when the part failed and it was 320kmh, The fault actually occured changing from 1st to second pulling out of a junction but hey I am a liar.... Foooking flipped on him, I spoke to him again and explained that 320kmh was near 200mph and that my car would possibly do 180 down a hill max, he then said bmw told him it does 191mph, so how could my sensor fail at 200mph??????????? . Was ready to take physical action after being spoke to twice like an idiot from the tech on the phone, managed to calm myself down, luckily for both him and myself I now have a baby so have calmed down a bit. This was the same dealership that told me the sport flap does not open unless the car is moving???? they were adamant about this.? Dickheads And the same dealership that fitted a viscous fan on my car only for it to fall off 50 miles later, as they had obviously not tightened it. They were not going to do any of the jobs as evidence "suggested I had been on track" I refused to talk to the monkey on the other end and asked for the service manager (whom i had previously met whilst complaining to about my runaway fan, who i must add was polite at the time and dealt with the situation correctly)... He promptly called me to say that he thinks they were perhaps looking into the faults a bit too much and that everything would be replaced under warranty,. Good man, nice man, shame about some of his staff. So end result, until I have again spoken to the service manager next week to complain about the way I was spoke to by his staff, I doubt my car will ever go back there. Having come from a dealership background albeit mercedes, I have worked with many jobsworths and I just dont get them. The same people who knock back peoples claims because of their input, which is open for debate are the same people who at the end of the month "create" warranty jobs to boost the takings to try to get bonus. This is my only gripe about the warranty the fact that someone else touches my car. Small things I just sort myself but the more expensive things it goes to bmw, Its a shame the minority spoil it ..... PHEW RANT OVER |

One question.... it baffles me this one.
Does every bmw car, thats been roadtested by journalists etc topgear, 5th gear. autocar, evo magazine etc etc, on a track may I add, lose its warranty forever????? This is the mindset of the dealers, "oh my god its been on track, get the holy water and the crucifix, we are not touching that devil child car" |
