Default Issues with Tom Tom in the CSL

Hi Guys

I'm having issues with my Tom Tom in the CSL, sometime takes ages to get a signal, and often goes "scatty"and then catches up on itself. I have a Parrot Blue Tooth kit. Has anyone else experience similar issues, is there something in the car interfering or could it be the parrot kit?

Cheers....

Not had the issues you experience with my TomTom.

I did loose the remote a week after I bought it though in September, resisted buying a new one until last week on the premise I might find it, sods law I found it between ordering it and being delivered, I think the valeter must have knocked it out of its hiding place with his hoover lol.

It will be something to do with the screen I think.

Yeah, maybe your screen. Is there is a different coloured 'hole' in the screen? That is supposed to allow signal in...

Do you have the climate comfort screen option?

If you have a climate comfort windscreen it will not work properly at all! I had this problem with a previous car, with both my TomTom, and a radar detector. I had to install an external antenna for my speed detector which ran along the dash and round the door frame and sat on the scuttle panel. I never looked in to an external antenna for the TomTom as I had sat nav in my old M3, I just liked having the GPS speedometer on display, but I'm sure there must be some sort of external antenna available as there are loads of cars these days with the same type of windscreen, assuming that's what your problem is of course!!

Lol, I was gonna say I remeber reading somewhere certain types of windscreen could cause issues, but when I read it back it didn't seem right so deleted it haha

How would I tell if I have a climate screen? Sounds a very plausable cause!!

Cheers!

It has a purple haze.

You could always lob a brick at it and pay £50 for a 'normal' screen from your insurer
