Clutch engagement problem

Had my car at the dealers yesterday about my clutch / SMG being funny.

When driving (its worse when cold) and Im crusing up through the gears - being sensible - everytime I change gear its as if its not engaging right and it takes a couple of goes to find the gear. It clunks in and out. It does the exact same on downshifts and just cant seem to find the gear.

Last week the telltale light (cog with ! in middle) came on but disappeared once I switched the car back off.

The dealer cant find any problems with it whatsover, so Im needing some ideas to throw at them.

I also pointed out my drive shaft seem to have excessive play in it, result is a new final drive

Finally justified my extended warranty.
