This is for all the one arm bandits, who I understand to be quite a few them driving CSL’s
I am looking to modify my steering wheel so I can change gear up and down shifts from the left hand side of the steering wheel. My thinking was to fix a push button switch on the top of the steering wheel, a bit like the m-track button. This would piggy back the wiring from the existing up shift on the right hand side of the wheel. Does any one know if this is possible and if so who could do it. Thanks |

![]() Im taking mine apart next week and see if i can mount a switch near m button and wire the wires from the left paddle, ill let you know how i get on, looks a very simple job tbh in terms of wiring, its just the style of switch and switch mounting is my only concern, oh yes and i could do it for you! I've looked in to this for months
Even thought about the SSG steering wheel, but been told that the software which operate the system is total different and not compatible to the SMG (SSG was on the 5 speed club sport versions) I was told by a electrical engineer, it could be a pulse button/switch required ! ! ! |

Yes ive looked but the paddles are not compatible with the csl wheel, im toying with the idea of a rocker in middle of wheel attached to the left paddle attached to a new paddle, I will push the new paddle forward which through the rocker will pull the original paddle. Just trying to find a suitable set-up, hopefully before oulton park on 1st august ![]() |

Apparently the paddles operate a simple switch which then operate a solenoid, so I guess that you would be able to mount a press button on the left side of the steering wheel which you could operate with your thumb?

They are just simple 2 wire switches - I got rid of my BMW wheel for an aftermarket one and got some paddles from a maserati race car - all works great and they have a much nicer feel than the BMW ones.
