Default Felt like a blast last night!!!!

Bought the CSL back in early January and really haven't had much time to drive it. I decided when I bought this one (my 3rd) that I would not use it as my daily car to work as living in London it proved really quite wearing. Bought myself a Smart car for the daily commute in London which has actually pleasantly surprised me. Anyway I digress. The mrs. was meeting a friend for dinner in South Kensington last night and rings me around 10pm to say she doesn't fancy getting on the tube so could I pick her up? Hmmmmm, what should I do, jump in the Smart, shoot off straight away and not worry about all the things I normally worry about in the CSL or get the cover off and take the CSL out just for a 7 mile journey into town and 7 mile back. Oh screw it then, CSL it is. Driving a car that does 0-60 in 13 secs on a day to day basis doesn't prepare you very well for 2.0 degrees last night and a CSL that just begs to be caned. Waited for the temp guage to get to the right levels and off we go. 2nd gear flat through sections of the A40 into Central London, in between cameras of course. Come off at White City roundabout and started to give it some beans around there wary of the temperature out there and wary of the fact that I am still learning the car all over again. By driving a slow car day in day out the CSL just seemed like an absolute animal. The acceleration and noise took my breath away. The only prob is because you go from a roundabout to traffic light, then to next traffic light, the slow coaches who you screamed past a few mins before end up catching you up at the next set of lights. They look across at you either with a look of disapproval or a look of "you are a nutter". I sheepishly look straight ahead pretending I have no idea what they are on about. Then I get even more central and I am near the Natural History museum. It's pretty quiet, I couldn't resist, window down, 2nd gear, give it a squirt and the sound comes in and you see people turning their heads to see what that noise is. Pull up outside restaurant, wife gets in the car and drive home nice and slowly.

Man, I love this car!!!!!

The first drive after along time without is sensational.

Fortunately my car is purely a toy, so every time I take it a run its for the fun of it. I get the shakes while Im waiting on the car warming up, all the adrenaline rushing through my veins.

Its awesome, no other car / vehicle / piece of engineering / being gives me the same kind of rush and ridiculously big smile.

I just have to 'black cat' that one!

I did 4500 miles in 2 weeks when i went to the Alps and back last summer immediately followed by a whistle stop trip to Aberdeen and back to Cornwall!

Loved every day 'in the saddle' though

Ahhhhh, but that was the first 10 days of ownership, including a trackday at Donington, hunting GT3s!

Not a bad tally!

Good skillls Anis, do it more often. I won't see mine for about a month I expect....

I know what you mean. I only use my car if the roads are dry and clear. Love the 1st time when the car is warm!
